Nick Reiner Charged with 2 Counts of Murder: Faces Life in Prison or Death
People of the State of California v. Nick Reiner
On December 16, 2025, felony charges were filed against Nick Reiner for two counts of murder, the unlawful killing of a human being, or a fetus, with malice aforethought. (Pen. Code, § 187, subd. (a).)
First degree murder is punishable by 25 years to life in prison. If Reiner is found guilty of more than one offense of murder in the first or second degree, then he will be sentenced to death or life in prison, without the possibility of parole. (Pen. Code, § 190.2, subd. (a)(3).) Each count of murder carries with it a one-year enhancement for using a deadly weapon in the commission of the felony. (Pen. Code, § 12022, subd. (b)(1).)
Reiner’s arraignment was initially scheduled for December 16, 2025, but L.A. County Sheriff’s Department did not clear him to be transported to the courthouse because of his health condition. Reiner’s arraignment has been continued to December 17, 2025 at the Clara Foltz Criminal Justice Center in downtown Los Angeles.
